How does a man make himself stronger?
I asked my mom for a deck of cards. She said, “Boy, you know I don’t allow no gambling.” I was like, “Ma, it ain’t about that.” I would go into my room — I lived in the garage at the time — and flip the deck up. If the card was a six, I’d do six push-ups. Then if the next card was a face card, I’d do 10. An ace, 25. Joker, 50. I’d go through the whole deck like that. Then I’d reshuffle and do the same thing with sit-ups. That was my workout. I use the same cards to this day, but now I’m up to three decks.

To perform the workout, you will start with a fully shuffled deck of cards (52 cards). All face cards (Jack, Queen, and King) have a value of 10. Aces will have a value of 11. Number cards will be face value (ex. 7 of spades = 7 pushups). Jokers are optional, and can be set to any value. For example, a joker could involve 20 reps (of burpees or pushups) or perhaps 50 reps of a different exercise (ex. 50 squats).
Work through the entire deck. Each card requires a set of pushups or burpees, depending on the color. Your goal is to work through the entire deck as fast as possible. If burpees are too difficult, switch over to a squat thrust without the jump.

We don’t mean solitaire. Get a deck of cards and some sort of receptacle – trash bin, cup, shoe, doesn’t matter. Sitting some distance from the target toss a card attempting to land it in the hole. If the card doesn’t make it and lands face up this is how many push-ups you will be doing. (Face cards equal 10.) Do the whole deck. Repeat if you’re a tough guy or gal (or if you are aces at tossing cards).
